Paul Earnest serves as Director of Golf at the award-winning Four Seasons Resort and Club, nationally recognized as being among the country’s top destination golf resorts. Earnest oversees the day-to-day golf operation of the 36-hole facility that also includes a 397-room luxury hotel and a private sports club serving more than 1800 families. In 2004, the Resort was named the No. 1 golf resort in North America by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.

He is responsible for the Resort’s primary retail outlet, the Pro Shop. Golf Business Magazine annually recognizes the store as one of the top 20 resort shops in America. He was named North Texas PGA Merchandiser of the Year from 1999 to 2004. He was also named PGA Merchandiser of the Year by the PGA of America in 2004.

Earnest is responsible for overseeing the operation and staff of the Byron Nelson Golf School, the renowned private golf school honoring the golf legend and designed for corporate entertainment and incentive programs. Additionally, he serves as host professional of the annual HP Byron Nelson Championship, a PGA Tour event held annually at the Resort. It attracts more that 250,000 spectators and raises more money for charity than any other PGA Tour.

Earnest joined the Resort in January 1998 with a strong background in guest service, golf merchandising and resort and club marketing with his previous position as Director of Golf at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. He also was Head Golf Professional at the Barton Creek County Club and Conference Resort in Austin. He directed the Fazio and Crenshaw/Coors courses and helped manage the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf and Celebrity Golf Association Tournament held there annually.

Recognized throughout his golfing career as an outstanding competitor, he is a13-year Class A member of the PGA America. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and holds a BBA in Marketing. He played on the golf team there from 1982 to 1986. During his junior golf career, he was awarded the 1982 AJGA Slayden-Dedman Award for Outstanding Sportsmanship. In 1998, he qualified for and competed in the National Club Pro Championship. His 16th place allowed him to compete in the 1998 PGA Championship. Additionally, he competed in 1998-2002 Byron Nelson Championships

Tim serves as the Director of Golf Instruction at the award-winning Four Seasons Resort and Club and the acclaimed Byron Nelson Golf School. He was honored as the 2005 Teacher of the Year for the Northern Texas PGA Section. Golf Magazine recognized Tim as a "Top Teacher" for the South Central Region of the United States in 2005 and 2006. He has taught players that have won championships on all of the major professional golf tours. Tim has done extensive travel internationally to teach golf as well as train golf professionals to become more accomplished teachers.

Previous to Four Seasons, Tim was the Director of Golf Instruction for Hank Haney Golf, Inc. in McKinney, Texas from 1992 to 2005. He also served as Assistant Men’s Golf Coach at Southern Methodist University from 1993 to 1997.

Tim has been a member of the PGA of America since 1989. He joined Four Seasons Golf Staff in April of 2005.


Jay Winegar - Junior Golf Director

Jay has been Head Instructor and Junior Golf Director at the Four Seasons Resort and Club since 1998. While attending Oklahoma State University from 1984 to 1988, Jay studied Exercise Physiology. Jay was instrumental in the creation of the Four Seasons Junior Golf Team and Junior Golf Program. Over 30 members have qualified to participate on Jay’s Junior Golf Team. Two past members currently play Division 1 college golf. His summer Junior Camps teach golf’s fundamentals to beginners through the tournament player. Jay is currently an Apprentice in the PGA of America. Prior to the Four Seasons Jay was a Teaching Assistant at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch in McKinney, Texas from 1991 to 1997.
